Vous l'avez attendu comme un vieux beau fraîchement andropausé attend gaillardement que la magie d'une pilule bleue opère afin de célébrer sa longue dégénérescence à venir au bordel. Vous l'avez attendu et le voilà enfin, le grand retour de Frenchedelia avec un troisième volume pas piqué des hannetons. Et quand Frenchedelia revient c'est avec la fougue et l'ardeur de cet organe que la pudeur nous interdit de nommer lorsqu'il visite, turgescent, l'antichambre moite et chaleureuse de la vie et de l'amour en brèves incursions répétées. Mais sans plus de métaphores obscènes, entrons donc dans le vif du sujet  et voyons ce que nous avons sorti pour vous du ventre fertile de l'underground psychédélique français...

You've waited like an old beau freshly experiencing andropause expects cheerfully that the magic of a blue pill works to celebrate his long degeneration coming at the brothel. You've waited and it is finally here, the great return of Frenchedelia with the compilation's third volume. And when Frenchedelia comes back it is with the ardor and the zeal of this body, that modesty forbids us to name, while it visits, turgid, the moist and warm antechamber of life and love in brief repeated toings and froings. But without more obscene metaphors, let's get into the thick of things and see what we took out of the fertile womb of the French psychedelic underground for your delight...

Alors que le taux de chômage ne cesse d'augmenter, notre dette publique s'accroît d'environ 16 700 000 euros toutes les heures, nous condamnant dans un futur plus ou moins proche à des réductions salariales de 30% comme le suggèrent déjà et sans vergogne les économistes de chez Goldman Sachs qui, après avoir spéculé sur cette même dette, pourront enfin compléter une collection de Porsche ou se murger joyeusement la gueule au Champagne Krug.

"Monde de merde" aurait lâché Georges Abitbol.

Néanmoins nous ne nous laissons pas aller à la sinistrose car le monde n'a pas encore définitivement perdu toute forme d'âme et il nous reste encore bien des choses pleines de charme et de vénusté pour nous émerveiller. Le second volume de la compilation Frenchedelia en fait entre autre partie. 

Nous avons donc le plaisir de vous dévoiler ce deuxième acte qui, tout en étant complémentaire du premier, explore une autre frange de l'univers psychédélique français, celle ci résolument tournée vers le Shoegaze, la Cold Wave et le Post Punk: de Joy Division à A Place To Bury Strangers, en passant par My Bloody Valentine, Jesus And Mary Chain et Spacemen 3. Vous l'aurez certainement compris la part belle est ainsi faite aux atmosphères où noirceur et torpeur se fondent dans la glace et l'éther, où le bruit et la mélodie s'embrassent sur une même eurythmie: en apnée sous ce déluge psychotronique et tel un plongeur en hypoxie il vous sera vital de cueillir la moindre bouffée de léthargie contemplative.

While the unemployment rate continues to increase, our public debt increases by about 16.7 million euros every hour, condemning us in a more or less close future to wage cuts of 30% as already shamelessly suggested by the economists from Goldman Sachs who, after having speculated on that same debt , will then finally complete a collection of Porsche or willingly booze liters and liters of Krug Champagne.

However, we do not let ourselves go to pessimism because the world has not yet definitively lost all its soul and we still have many things full of beauty and grace which still enthrall us. The second volume of the compilation "Frenchedelia" is part of those things.

So we are pleased to unveil this second act which, being complementary to the first, explores another segment of the French psychedelic universe, this one turned towards Shoegaze, Cold Wave and Post Punk: from Joy Division to A Place to Bury Strangers, through My Bloody Valentine, Jesus And Mary Chain and Spacemen 3. As you had certainly understood we have spotlighted here those atmospheres where darkness and torpor melt into ice and ether, where the noise and melody embrace each other on the same eurythmy: dived into this psychotronic deluge and as a diver in hypoxia it will be vital for you to take up the rare breathes of contemplative lethargy.

Comme promis le voici : le tout premier volume de notre compilation Frenchedelia qui fait suite au foisonnant dossier que nous avons eu le plaisir de vous pondre récemment. Lequel devrait d'ailleurs certainement subir une petite mise à jour dans les semaines à venir. 

On attaque donc le gueuleton avec une barquette de 15 spécimens origine France. Ici nous avons mis globalement l'accent sur des saveurs issues du terreau psychédélique des 60's et de la reviviscence contemporaine des années 90 dont les Brian Jonestown Massacre, Black Angels et leurs nombreux autres pairs ont été de grands artisans.

Chaque groupe néanmoins y joue avec habileté de son propre jobelin. Notre définition du psychédélisme chérissant une généreuse palette de styles, nous nous sommes tout de même efforcés de composer un bouquet harmonieux qui ravira à coup sûr même le plus virulent des antophobes. 

Pour le second volume qui sortira dans les jours prochains on rangera les bouzoukis, bâtons d'encens et autres chinoiseries, troquant une liturgie pharisaïque pour un sabbat retentissant et sépulcral...

As promised here it is: the first volume of our "Frenchedelia" compilation which follows the colossal dossier we had the pleasure to publish recently. And which would, by the way, probably get a small update in the coming weeks. 

So let's start the blowout with that tray of 15 specimens exclusively from France. Here we have generally focused on flavors from the psychedelic 60's roots and the 90's contemporary revival of which the Brian Jonestown Massacre, Black Angels and their many other peers were great craftsmen.

However, each band genuinely plays with its own style and sensibilities. Our definition of psychedelia cherishing a generous range of genres, we still have tried to compose a harmonious bouquet that is sure to delight even the most virulent of the antophobics.
For the second volume to be released in the coming days we will put away bouzoukis, incense sticks and other exotic knick-knack, swapping a pharisaical liturgy to a resounding and sepulchral Sabbath...

En cette fin d'année alors que les radios les plus vulgaires et consensuelles de la bande FM sortent tour à tour et dans un dessein on ne peut plus vénal leurs compilations de hits, véritables tapons de coprolithes que l'industrie musicale cacochyme mais prolifère nous a encore abondamment tarti cette année; Fuzz Club Records et The Reverberation Appreciation Society nous offrent à nous autres, séides de la confrérie psychédélique contemporaine, le second volume de la compilation The Reverb Conspiracy. 

Il est vrai que là où l'album, œuvre à part entière, s'appréhende comme le noble produit du travail de l'artiste, la compilation récolte quant à elle moins de crédit et est souvent perçue comme un modique catalogue dans lequel on a semé ça et là une tripotée de morceaux. Et pourtant, bien au delà de la portée promotionnelle qu'elle peut revêtir, il lui arrive d'encourir une plus auguste destinée. C'est le cas lorsqu'elle saisie l'esprit d'une mouvance musicale, se faisant alors calice de l'essence qui imprègne toute une congrégation de groupes: chacun muni d'une fertilité bien singulière mais partageant la même foi et cette façon quasi similaire de la communier. Quand on évoque la dimension biblique d'une compilation on ne peut s'empêcher de penser à la fameuse série Nuggets, et son premier tome: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era (1965-1968), véritable recueil des racines du garage rock et intarissable source d'inspiration pour des générations de musiciens, ou encore les 20 volumes de la collection Rubble qui esquissent le paysage de la Grande-Bretagne psychédélique de la dernière moitié des années 60. De nos jours et vivant à l'ère de la cyber-connexion, on apprécie le remarquable travail et l'exhaustivité de The Psychedelic Underground Generation ou de The Active Listener, qui nous gratifient mensuellement de compilations digitales et gratuites reprenant l'ensemble de ce qui se fait de bon au sein de la présente galaxie psychédélique. Mais pour tous les monomanes du microsillon entretenant encore un rapport tactile avec la musique, c'est bel et bien The Reverb Conspiracy qui incarne actuellement le Lapsit Exillis de ces compilations. Avec ce second volume, c'est à nouveau sous un admirable reliquaire peinturé par Nonni Dead et renfermant un double-vinyle que l'on retrouve une délectable sélection de groupes émergents de la bouillonnante scène underground européenne. Ici l'héritage majoritairement revendiqué se veut du  krautrock, post-punk, shoegaze et de la scène psyché des années 80/90. Lumière sur cette compilation qui, n'en doutons pas, est en passe de devenir culte...

At the end of the year, while the crudest radios are releasing with mercantile aims their compilations of hits, veritable heaps of stools that the sickly music industry has copiously defecated this year; Fuzz Club Records and The Reverberation Appreciation Society are offering to us, companions of the contemporary psychedelic brotherhood, the second volume of The Reverb Conspiracy compilation .

If it is true that the album is apprehended as the noble product of the artist's work, the compilation receives usually less credit and is often perceived as a modest catalog in which are planted here and there a gaggle of songs. Yet far beyond the promotional scope that the compilation can take, it sometimes incurs a more glorious destiny. This is the case when it captures the spirit of a musical movement, making itself the chalice of the essence that permeates an entire congregation of bands: each with a very singular fertility but all sharing the same faith and communion's way. When talking about the biblical dimension of a compilation we can not help but think of the famous Nuggets collection and its first volume : "Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era (1965-1968)", complete collection of garage rock roots and inexhaustible source of inspiration for generations of musicians, or the 20 volumes of the Rubble series which outline the landscape of the psychedelic Britain from 60's latter half. Today and living in the era of cyber-connection, we appreciate the outstanding work of The Psychedelic Underground Generation or The Active Listener as they gratify us monthly with free and digital compilations featuring all the good stuff from our psychedelic galaxy. But for all the microgroove's monomaniac who still maintain a tactile relationship with music, it is indeed The Reverb Conspiracy which currently embodies the "Lapsit Exillis" of these compilations. With this second volume, we find once again a double vinyl inside a wonderful reliquary painted by Nonni Dead and featuring a delectable selection of bands emerging from the ebullient European underground scene. Here, the mostly claimed legacy is krautrock, post-punk, shoegaze and the psychedelic scene from the 80/90's. Light on this compilation that, without any doubt, is going to become cult...
